I also have a tethered Verizon internet connection. I have had quite good luck with it so far, just once or twice I've had problems connecting.
I did as you said, rebooted my computer. The other time I couldn't connect, so I just waited a while and tried it again and got online. Next time I'll try rebooting my phone. So far I'm very pleased with this internet service. It's very convenient for me Appreciate you guys and your tips. C. Tanner

I forwarded this link to my husband who then promptly declared we needed to go to our local Verizon store. We are now the proud owners of the Mifi. It's amazing and appears to be as fast, if not faster, than our cable internet at home. That's impressive. We are taking it to the mountains this weekend to try it out in our trailer. It's about the same size as a credit card. We only plug it in to re-charge the battery. We do have a 5 gb limit. And, the contract is for 2 years at $60 a mo. They have a 30 day return policy, though, so we will put it through its paces and see what happens. Thanks!

I just tried tethering and it worked pretty well. I did have to reconnect (not reboot) a couple of times. I followed the directions for setting up outgoing mail but this didn't work.

Perhaps you could cover this in a future session.

Jerome,
If you email the pictures as attachments, and your recipient saves them to their computer and views them with Picasa, the captions should be there.
I'll bet what you want though is to use Outlook or Outlook Express with the pictures displayed in the body of the email? The only way to be sure they see the caption is to use the Text tool in Picasa.
Open a picture that has a caption
click on the text tool
click the button 'Copy Caption'
The caption is now written text right on the picture. You'll probably need to move it around and/or change colors to make it most readable.

Brenda,
Yes! The Mi-Fi looks wonderful - and we've heard good reports from actual users. Whether it's good enough to be your sole connection depends on how good Verizon is at your home. The 5 gigabytes is plenty for browsing and email even for 2 people - just keep an eye on it.
As or Wi-Fi security for banking - your bank's website handles that so it is perfectly safe to connect to your bank on public wi-fi hotspots.

Gertrude, Verizon has become awfully good! We have excellent connection right now in a rural park with *lots* of trees. It's so nice not to need a treeless site! But, at least a couple of places so far this summer have been veeerrrrryyyy slow and I found myself missing my satellite dish.
We're not in Iowa any more ... moved on to the Land of Lincoln. Here is the renewing membership page.

Fernando - why are you importing from a folder? If the video is in a folder on your computer, Picasa already sees it. The import command is usually to get files from your camera onto your computer.
With a video on your computer, you should be able to see it in Picasa. When you double click in, you will then have the option to upload to Picasa Web Albums, or to Youtube.
